Why aren't my comments showing up?
If comments are not appearing in the unified chat panel, here are the most common reasons and how to fix them.
Common causes
Free plan. Live chat is a paid feature. It is available on Hobby, Creator, Scale, and Enterprise, but not on the Free plan.
Not live yet. Comments only start flowing after your stream is broadcasting and each platform has accepted the feed. Wait 10–20 seconds after clicking Go Live.
Platform not enabled. A platform must be connected and toggled on in the Channels panel. If it is disabled or disconnected, its comments will not appear.
Platform not supported for chat. ApexStream's unified chat reads comments from YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. Other platforms do not feed into chat.
Chat panel closed. Make sure the Chat icon in the right-hand sidebar is selected.
Connection hiccup. If your network dropped, refresh the browser tab. The chat socket usually reconnects within a few seconds.
Quick fix checklist
- Confirm you are on Hobby or higher.
- Confirm you are live and streaming to at least one chat-supported platform.
- Open the Channels panel and enable YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch.
- Open the Chat panel in the sidebar.
- Refresh the page if comments still do not appear.
Good to know: A small delay between a viewer posting on the platform and the comment appearing in ApexStream is normal. If comments arrive after 10–20 seconds, everything is working.
