Turn a stream recording into a podcast episode

Last updated July 24, 2026

You don't have to record your podcast separately β€” a recording from Web Studio can flow straight into Podcast Studio as a draft episode.

How the automatic bridge works

  1. Record a session in Web Studio with recording turned on.
  2. Once the stream ends and the recording finishes processing, Podcast Studio automatically creates a draft episode from it β€” you don't need to export or upload anything.
  3. If you don't have a show yet, ApexStream creates one for you so the episode has somewhere to land.
  4. Open Episodes in Podcast Studio and select the show β€” your new episode appears with Draft status, ready to edit.

This automatic bridge only applies to recordings made in Web Studio, and it requires a Hobby plan or higher.

Bringing in audio manually

If a recording didn't bridge automatically β€” for example, a recording made from an OBS/RTMP stream rather than Web Studio β€” you can still bring it into an episode:

  1. Open the episode in the Editor.
  2. Click Library Import.
  3. Choose the recording from your Recording Library and select it β€” its audio is imported and linked to the episode.
Good to know: Only Web Studio recordings are bridged automatically. Recordings from an external encoder like OBS still need to be brought in manually via Library Import.
