Scenes and layouts
Scenes control how your camera, screen share, and guests are arranged on screen. This article covers the preset layouts in Web Studio and how to switch between them.
Choose a scene preset
- Open the Scenes panel from the right-hand sidebar (it opens on the Basic tab by default).
- Pick one of the preset layouts:
- Full Camera
- Split Screen
- Picture-in-Pic
- Side by Side
- Presenter
- Interview
- Screen Only
- Click a scene to apply it. It updates your broadcast immediately.
Starting a screen share automatically switches you to Picture-in-Pic if you were on Full Camera or Split Screen, so your screen and camera both show without you having to change scenes yourself.
Switch between landscape and portrait
At the top of the Scenes panel, an Output control lets you choose Landscape (16:9) or Portrait (9:16) for the whole broadcast. Portrait output is available on the Creator plan and above. This can't be changed while you're live — stop the broadcast first if you need to switch orientation.
Good to know: Want to try a layout before it goes out to your audience? Turn on Studio Mode in the top bar to preview a scene privately, then click Take to push it live. Without Studio Mode, clicking a scene changes your broadcast right away.
