Set up your camera
This article covers picking and previewing your camera in Web Studio, adjusting it once you're live, and adding a second camera to your show.
Before you enter Web Studio
On the pre-flight screen, you'll see a live video preview with a camera picker. Choose your device from the dropdown, and use the toggle to turn your camera off if you'd rather start with it off. You can also switch on Mirror or Blur for the preview at this stage.
Switch cameras once you're in the studio
In the bottom bar, click the camera icon to turn your camera on or off (shortcut: β₯V on Mac, Alt+V on Windows). Click the small arrow next to it to open Select Camera and pick a different connected device without leaving the studio.
Fine-tune camera settings
Open Settings from the bottom bar and go to the Video tab for more options:
- Camera Source β choose which device to use.
- Resolution β Auto (720p) or HD (720p) on any plan; Full HD (1080p) on the Creator plan and above.
- Mirror Camera β flips your own preview so it feels natural to look at while you talk.
- Privacy Blur (preview only) β blurs your own preview tile only. Your viewers aren't affected β to blur your background for your audience, use Virtual Background instead.
Add a second camera
Click the + (Add Source) button in the bottom bar and choose Extra Camera (shortcut: E). This opens Add Extra Camera, which lists any other connected camera or capture card. Pick one to add it as its own source in your layout β it carries video only, so it won't interfere with your microphone.
Good to know: Privacy Blur and Virtual Background do two different things. Privacy Blur only blurs what you personally see in your own preview tile β it never reaches your broadcast. If you want your background blurred for your audience, that's a separate Virtual Background setting.
