Share your screen

Screen sharing lets you show your desktop, a specific window, or a browser tab as part of your broadcast. This article covers starting, composing, and stopping a screen share in Web Studio.

Start screen sharing

You have two ways to start:

  1. Click the screen share icon in the bottom bar (shortcut: ⌥S on Mac, Alt+S on Windows), or
  2. Click the + (Add Source) button and choose Screen Share (shortcut: H).

Either way, your browser opens its own picker so you can choose whether to share your entire screen, a specific window, or a browser tab.

Guests can share their screen the same way from their own controls.

What happens to your layout

Starting a screen share automatically switches your scene to Picture-in-Pic if you were on Full Camera or Split Screen, so your screen and your camera both show without any extra steps. If you were already on a layout built around a screen — like Side by Side or Screen Only — Web Studio keeps that layout as-is.

Stop sharing

Click the same screen share button again to stop, or use your browser's own "Stop sharing" bar.

Good to know: If you stop sharing from your browser's native controls instead of the studio button, Web Studio notices and automatically switches your scene back to Full Camera for you.
