Getting started with Web Studio
Web Studio is ApexStream's browser-based production studio β this article introduces what it does, how to open it, and how to find your way around once you're inside.
What Web Studio is
Web Studio runs entirely in your browser, so there's nothing to download or install. From inside it you can:
- Broadcast your camera, bring on remote guests, and share your screen.
- Switch between preset scene layouts (Full Camera, Split Screen, Picture-in-Pic, and more).
- Add graphics like your logo, text labels, and a countdown timer.
- Go live to all your connected destinations at once, and record the session to the cloud.
Opening Web Studio
- From your dashboard, click Go To Studio in the sidebar, or Enter Web Studio on the home screen.
- You'll land on a pre-flight screen where you can preview your camera and microphone, watch the mic level meter, and give your session a title.
- Click Enter Studio to go in.
A quick tour of the interface
Once you're inside, the studio is laid out in four main areas:
- Top bar β your session title, plus (for the host) buttons for Share, Record, Channels, Schedule, and the Go Live button.
- Center stage β a live preview of exactly what your audience and any recording will see.
- Bottom bar β quick controls for your mic, camera, screen share, camera blur/mirror, adding a source, and Settings.
- Right-hand sidebar β a row of panel icons including Sources (guests and invites), Scenes, Graphics, Chat, Channels, and more. Click an icon to open that panel.
Good to know: What you see depends on your role. As the host, you get the full top bar and all the production controls. Guests who join through an invite link see a simpler view with just their own mic, camera, and a Leave button β they can't control channels, recording, or going live.
