Go live from Web Studio

This article walks you through going live from Web Studio, from opening it to ending your broadcast.

Steps to go live

  1. From your dashboard, click Go To Studio in the sidebar (or Enter Web Studio on the home screen).
  2. On the pre-flight screen, choose your camera and microphone, check the mic level meter, and give your session a title. Click Enter Studio when you're ready.
  3. Inside the studio, open the Channels panel and switch on every destination you want for this broadcast. The panel header shows how many are active, like "2 of 3 active" or "5 of 8 active," depending on your plan.
  4. Build your scene β€” pick a layout, add overlays, bring in a screen share or a guest β€” then click the big Go Live button in the top bar.
  5. When you're finished, click End Stream.

Web Studio also applies noise reduction to your microphone automatically on every broadcast β€” there's no switch to turn it on, and it isn't something you need to configure before going live.

Good to know: Web Studio blocks you from going live in two situations. If you haven't switched on at least one destination in the Channels panel, you'll see "Please select at least one destination to go live" and the panel opens automatically. And in the rare case that the automatic background noise reduction fails to start (for example, in an unsupported browser), ApexStream stops the broadcast from starting rather than send out unprocessed audio, and asks you to reload the page or try a different browser.
