Record separate guest tracks (ISO recording)
ISO recording saves an individual audio/video file for each participant in a Web Studio broadcast. This is useful when you want to edit speakers separately in post-production.
How ISO recording works
When ISO recording is enabled, ApexStream records an isolated track for each host and guest in addition to the main mixed recording. After the stream ends, these tracks are stitched into separate files you can download.
Availability
ISO recording is available for Scale and Enterprise plans. On the dashboard recording download page, eligible recordings show a dropdown with individual tracks when the ISO files are ready.
Download ISO tracks
- Go to your dashboard and open the recording.
- Click the Download button.
- If ISO tracks are available, the dropdown shows:
- Full Video + Audio — the mixed MP4.
- One Isolated audio (MP3) track per participant.
- Choose the track you need and download it.
Good to know: ISO tracks are recorded in the cloud during the live session, so all participants need a stable connection. If a participant's upload is interrupted, their ISO track may have a gap while the mixed recording continues normally.
