Record in Web Studio

Last updated July 24, 2026

Web Studio can record your session directly from your browser. You can save the recording to your ApexStream cloud library or, on eligible plans, download it straight to your own device.

Start a cloud recording

  1. Enter Web Studio.
  2. In the top bar, open the Record menu.
  3. Choose Cloud recording to set where the session will be saved. This menu sets the recording target β€” it does not start or stop capture by itself.
  4. Start the session with Go Live, Start, or Recording Only. A pulsing red REC indicator with a timer appears on screen while recording is active.
  5. End the session with End Stream or Stop Recording on the main session button when you are done (there is no Stop Recording item in the Record menu).

The recording is processed after the session ends and appears in your dashboard's Media Library within a few minutes.

Start a local recording

On the Creator plan and above, you can also save a recording directly to your computer:

  1. Open the Record menu in the top bar.
  2. Choose Local recording.
  3. The file is saved to your default downloads location when you stop.

Record without going live

If you only want a recording and do not want to broadcast, click the arrow next to Go Live and choose Recording Only.

Good to know: Cloud recording starts on the Hobby plan. Local recording requires Creator or above, and the Free plan does not include recording.
