Connecting Your Streaming Platforms

Reconnect or refresh an expired platform connection

Last updated July 24, 2026

Platform tokens can expire if you change your password, revoke access, or the platform requires a periodic re-login. When that happens, the destination shows as disconnected in ApexStream.

How to reconnect

  1. In your ApexStream dashboard, go to Integrations.
  2. For Facebook, look for a destination that shows Facebook session expired.
  3. Click Re-connect on that row.
  4. Sign in to the platform and grant ApexStream permission again.
  5. Return to ApexStream and confirm the destination is connected again.

For manual RTMP destinations

Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X use stream keys that expire between sessions. There is no key-edit on the destination β€” refresh the key this way:

  1. Get a fresh stream key (and server URL if it changed) from the platform's creator tools.
  2. In ApexStream, go to Integrations.
  3. Remove the old destination.
  4. Add the platform again and paste the new server URL and stream key.

After reconnecting

  • Reconnecting does not delete your past streams or recordings.
  • You may need to re-enable the destination in the Channels panel before your next broadcast.
Good to know: Reconnecting is faster than removing and re-adding the destination, and it keeps your friendly name and settings intact.
