Reconnect or refresh an expired platform connection
Platform tokens can expire if you change your password, revoke access, or the platform requires a periodic re-login. When that happens, the destination shows as disconnected in ApexStream.
How to reconnect
- In your ApexStream dashboard, go to Integrations.
- Find the platform that shows Disconnected or Expired.
- Click Reconnect or Re-authorize.
- Sign in to the platform and grant ApexStream permission again.
- Return to ApexStream and confirm the destination shows as connected.
For manual RTMP destinations
Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X use stream keys that expire between sessions. Instead of reconnecting OAuth:
- Get a fresh stream key from the platform's creator tools.
- In ApexStream, go to Integrations.
- Click Edit on the destination.
- Paste the new key and save.
After reconnecting
- Reconnecting does not delete your past streams or recordings.
- You may need to re-enable the destination in the Channels panel before your next broadcast.
Good to know: Reconnecting is faster than removing and re-adding the destination, and it keeps your friendly name and settings intact.
