Understanding clip scores & why a moment was chosen

Last updated July 24, 2026

When ApexStream's AI Clips analyzes a recording, it scores each highlight moment so you can quickly see which clips are most likely to perform well as short-form content.

What the virality score means

Each clip gets a score from 0 to 100. The score is based on signals like:

  • audio energy or excitement spikes
  • facial expressions and movement
  • speech patterns, such as punchlines or key phrases
  • engagement-friendly length and pacing

A higher score means the AI thinks the moment is more likely to grab attention on short-form platforms.

Why this moment was chosen

Next to each clip, you may see a short explanation like "high energy response" or "key takeaway." This tells you what the AI noticed in that segment.

How to use the score

  • Start with the highest-scoring clips when you want quick wins.
  • Lower-scoring clips may still be useful for specific audiences or follow-up content.
  • Always preview a clip before posting β€” the score is a guide, not a guarantee.
Good to know: Clips with a score of 80 or above are highlighted as strong candidates. Scores between 50 and 79 are decent, and below 50 may need editing or can be skipped.
