Generate AI Clips from a recording

This article walks you through turning a finished recording into a set of AI-generated clips.

Steps to generate clips

1. Make sure you have a finished recording in your Media Library — AI Clips works on a recording you've already saved, not on a live broadcast.
2. Open the recording and choose Generate AI Clips. ApexStream sends the recording off for analysis and starts processing.
3. Open AI Clips in the sidebar and click into that recording to check progress — you'll see the current step and a percentage as ApexStream works through the video.
4. When it finishes, each clip appears with a score and its length. Click into a clip to preview it, adjust its captions or framing, and download the finished file.
5. Want a fresh batch from the same recording? Wait for the current run to finish first — a recording can only have one AI Clips job running at a time.

Processing time depends on how long your source recording is — longer recordings take longer to analyze.

Good to know: AI Clips requires the Creator plan or higher — it's locked on Free and Hobby. How many clips you can generate and how much processing time you get each month both scale with your plan, with Scale and Enterprise getting the most room.
