Stream to TikTok

Last updated July 24, 2026

TikTok Live connects to ApexStream through a manual RTMP setup. Like Instagram, TikTok stream keys expire, so you refresh the key before each broadcast.

Before you start

  • Your TikTok account must meet TikTok's live-streaming requirements (follower count, age, region).
  • You need a TikTok stream key and server URL. These are available from TikTok Studio or the live creator tools.

Add TikTok as a destination

  1. In your ApexStream dashboard, go to Integrations.
  2. Click the TikTok tile.
  3. Paste the RTMP server URL and stream key.
  4. Enable the Crop to 9:16 Vertical option if you want portrait output for mobile feeds.
  5. Save the connection.

Refresh your key before each stream

TikTok stream keys expire between sessions, and ApexStream does not show an automatic pre-flight key popup. Get a new key from TikTok Studio, then remove and re-add the TikTok destination in Integrations with the new server URL and key before going live.

Go live

  1. Enter Web Studio or start your encoder.
  2. Enable the TikTok destination.
  3. Click Go Live.
Good to know: TikTok Live is vertical-first. For the best viewer experience, stream in 9:16 portrait. Turning on Crop to 9:16 Vertical currently requires the Scale plan or higher.
