Screen share isn't working
If nothing happens when you try to share your screen in Web Studio, the cause is usually a browser permission or an OS setting.
Check these, in order
Did you allow the screen-recording permission? Your browser shows a picker when you start screen share. If you clicked Cancel, click the screen share button again and choose Allow or the screen you want to share.
Is your browser allowed to record the screen? On macOS, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording and make sure your browser is enabled. On Windows, make sure no other app is already sharing the screen.
Are you using a supported browser? Chrome, Edge, and Firefox support screen sharing reliably. Safari has more limited support.
Did you pick the right source? The browser picker lets you choose your entire screen, a specific window, or a browser tab. If you picked a window or tab that is now closed, start screen share again and choose the correct source.
Try again
- Click the screen share icon in the bottom bar, or press Alt+S (Windows) or ⌥S (Mac).
- Choose what you want to share.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Good to know: Some browsers show a "Stop sharing" bar at the top or bottom of the screen while you are sharing. You can stop there, or click the screen share button in Web Studio again.
