Reset or regenerate your stream key

Last updated July 24, 2026

This article is about updating the stream key on a custom destination (a platform you added with RTMP or SRT). It is not about rotating the key you use to send video into ApexStream.

Update a custom destination key

  1. Go to Dashboard β†’ Integrations.
  2. Find the custom RTMP or custom SRT destination whose key needs to change.
  3. Remove that destination.
  4. Add it again with the new stream key from your target platform.

The pencil control on a destination card only renames the destination β€” it does not change the stream key. After you re-add the destination, ApexStream uses the new key the next time you go live to it.

There is no self-serve way to rotate your ApexStream ingest stream key today. If that key has been compromised, email support@apexstream.co.

What about OAuth-connected platforms?

For YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and other OAuth platforms, ApexStream manages the connection tokens automatically. You don't need to rotate a stream key manually. If a token expires, reconnect the platform from the Integrations page.

Good to know: Changing a destination key does not affect your stream history or recordings. It only changes where ApexStream sends the live feed for that destination.
