My stream won't start on Facebook

If you went live in ApexStream but nothing shows up on Facebook, work through this checklist in order.

Check these, in order

  1. Is Facebook switched on in the Channels panel? Open Web Studio's Channels panel (or the Integrations page) and confirm your Facebook destination's toggle is on for this broadcast.
  2. Did you connect the right Page or Profile? When you connect Facebook, you choose which Page (or your personal profile) to stream to. If you're checking the wrong Page on Facebook's side, it can look like the stream never started. Confirm the Page you're watching matches the one you selected when you connected.
  3. Has your Facebook connection expired? Facebook access is only valid for around 60 days, and unlike YouTube, there's no automatic renewal once it fully expires β€” you have to sign in again. Go to Integrations and reconnect Facebook if you see a disconnected or expired state.
  4. Is your stream quality above your plan's cap? Every plan has a maximum resolution and bitrate. If your broadcast is sending more than your plan allows, ApexStream stops the stream rather than deliver a broken feed β€” lower your encoder's output or upgrade your plan.
  5. Does your Facebook Page meet Facebook's own requirements for live streaming? Facebook sets its own eligibility rules for Pages (for example, very new or restricted Pages can be limited). If everything looks correct on ApexStream's side, check your Page's live-streaming status directly on Facebook.

Good to know: Facebook's connection doesn't renew itself the way YouTube's does β€” once those roughly 60 days are up, you'll need to reconnect from Integrations before you can go live to Facebook again. Reconnecting well before an important stream is the safest habit.
