I can't hear my guest / my guest can't hear me
If audio is missing between you and a guest in Web Studio, the cause is usually a browser permission, a muted device, or the wrong audio output.
If you cannot hear your guest
Check their microphone. Ask the guest to confirm their mic is not muted in their guest controls and that the mic meter moves when they speak.
Check their device selection. The guest should make sure the correct microphone is chosen in the pre-flight screen or guest settings.
Check your own volume. Make sure your headphones or speakers are turned up and that you have not muted the guest in the Sources or Green Room panel.
If your guest cannot hear you
Check your microphone. Confirm your mic is unmuted in Web Studio and the mic meter is active.
Check browser permissions. The guest may have blocked audio playback. Ask them to click the speaker icon in the browser tab and allow audio.
Ask the guest to refresh. A page refresh usually restores audio without removing them from the session.
Still no audio?
- Have the guest leave and rejoin with a fresh invite link.
- Ask them to use headphones to rule out echo-cancellation issues.
- Try a different browser. Chrome and Edge generally work best.
Good to know: A guest's browser may automatically mute audio until they interact with the page. Ask them to click anywhere on the page once after joining.
