Connect and stream to YouTube

Connect and stream to YouTube

Connect your YouTube channel once, and it's ready to include any time you go live from ApexStream. Here's how to connect it and go live for the first time.

Connect your YouTube channel

  1. In your dashboard, open Integrations.
  2. Find the YouTube tile and click Connect.
  3. You'll be sent to Google's sign-in screen β€” sign in and approve the permissions ApexStream requests.
  4. You're brought back to ApexStream automatically, and every YouTube channel found on that account is added for you. There's no extra list to pick from.

Go live to YouTube from Web Studio

  1. Open Web Studio and complete the camera/microphone check.
  2. Open the Channels panel and switch on your YouTube channel for this broadcast.
  3. Want viewers to see a specific title or privacy setting? Click Edit on the YouTube channel card to set the Title, Description, and Privacy (Public, Unlisted, or Private) before you go live.
  4. Click Go Live. ApexStream creates or reuses your YouTube broadcast behind the scenes and starts sending your feed to it β€” there's no need to touch YouTube Studio directly.

If your YouTube connection ever stops working β€” for example, an expired sign-in β€” reconnect it from the Integrations page the same way you connected it the first time.

Good to know: Your YouTube channel needs to already be enabled for live streaming on YouTube's own side. If ApexStream can't find an eligible channel, you'll see a message asking you to check that live streaming is turned on for your channel. YouTube can take up to 24 hours to activate this the first time, so it's worth checking well before your first stream.
