Add a name / lower-third

Last updated July 24, 2026

A lower-third is the on-screen nameplate that shows a person's name and title. Web Studio lets you add one as an overlay.

Add a name overlay

  1. Enter Web Studio.
  2. Open the Brand panel (Brand Kit) in the right-hand sidebar.
  3. Turn on Show Name Overlays.
  4. Names come from host and guest display names set when joining, and the host title from pre-flight.
  5. Pick a preset theme or customize the font, colors, name/title size, and position.
  6. The name overlay appears on your canvas and goes out with the broadcast.

Style options

You can customize:

  • theme, colors, and font
  • name and title size
  • position on screen

There are no animation style or duration timer controls for name overlays.

When to use it

  • Introduce a guest when they first speak.
  • Show your own name and title at the start of a stream.
  • Highlight a speaker during a panel or interview.
Good to know: Lower-third styles pull from your brand kit when one is configured, so your nameplates match your other overlays automatically.
