My stream keeps dropping or reconnecting

If your broadcast is cutting out or repeatedly reconnecting, work through this checklist in order.

Check these, in order

1. Is it a brief connection blip in Web Studio? When Web Studio notices a short break in your connection, it automatically tries to reconnect in the background, and most blips resolve on their own within a few seconds. While it's working, the Go Live button shows a "Connecting..." state, and if a specific destination is the one reconnecting, that platform's badge in the Channels panel shows "Connecting" too.
2. Is it a brief interruption from an external encoder (like OBS)? ApexStream gives your encoder a short window, around ten seconds, to reconnect before it gives up. A quick drop and reconnect is usually picked back up automatically without you needing to do anything. If the gap runs longer than that, ApexStream ends the broadcast on every connected destination at once, and you'll need to start streaming again from your encoder.
3. Is your internet connection stable? Use a wired connection where you can — Wi-Fi is far more prone to drops. Keep your streaming bitrate at or below about 75% of your tested upload speed so brief dips in your connection don't push you over what you actually have available.
4. Did you reach your plan's maximum stream length? Every plan caps how long a single broadcast can run. About 10 minutes before you hit that cap, ApexStream posts a warning in your chat panel, then ends the stream automatically across all destinations once the limit is reached — this can look like a sudden drop if you missed the warning.
5. Did you go over your monthly bandwidth? If your account has used up its monthly streaming bandwidth, ApexStream won't let you go live — or reconnect — until the next month or until you upgrade.

Good to know: If your stream ends and you're not sure why, check whether it happened right around your plan's maximum stream length — ApexStream posts a warning in your chat about 10 minutes out, but it's easy to miss if you're focused on the broadcast.
